Choreographers



Each year, OMSD gives students the opportunity to choreograph to showcase their creative talents.  Students are fully responsible for every aspect of their piece -- from developing the concept of the piece to deciding on music, props, costuming, and lighting.

Our 2016-2017 Choreographers:



Drew Wheeler 
Drew is from Jackson, MS and graduated this past December, receiving a BA in Theatre with a minor in Music.  He has participated in OMSD for the past 5 years. Nothing gives him more pleasure than choreographing a piece of art. This year, Drew will be in Orlando working with the Disney College Program.  Look for Drew as a character performer if you happen to be in Disney this year! 



Genevive Walker
Genevive is a Senior at Ole Miss pursuing a degree in English Education and Fine Arts certification in Dance. Over her college career, Genevieve has been completely involved in dance beginning at Hinds where she was a member and captain of Hinds Hi-Steppers, as well as a member of Montage Theatre of Dance. Here at Ole Miss, she has been a member of OMSD and Mississippi: The Dance Company for two years. She hopes to teach both dance and english in her hometown of Vicksburg, MS after graduation. 


Kendrick Wallace 
Kendrick is a junior Exercise Science major from Madison, MS. He started dancing in high school with Show Choir and has been involved with OMSD for three years. Two years ago, he started Hip Hop Rebs and currently serves as the president. Kendrick also teaches hip hop at North MS Dance Center in Tupelo, MS. 


LaDarius Lee
LaDarius is a junior seeking a BA in Theatre Arts and a minor in Cinema from Nashville, TN. He has been dancing for 4 years and involved with OMSD for three. LaDarius hopes to one day travel the world, learn about new cultures, and tell those stories through dance. OMSD has opened so many opportunities for him and is so excited to serve as on the Board! 


Meredith Dillon 
Meredith is a senior Psychology major originally from Chicago, but more recently from Collierville, TN. She has been dancing with OMSD since her freshman year, but this was her first year choreographing.  She has been dancing her entire life and has studied everything from pointe to hip hop. Her favorite style is tap. 


Nicole Fava 
Nicole is a sophomore BFA Musical Theatre major from Orange County, California and is so excited to be a first-time choreographer for OMSD. She has been dancing for four years, and has loved every bit of it. She is excited to continue growing as a dancer and as a choreographer.  

Sydney Gibson 
Sydney has been dancing for 17 years and is from Gautier, MS. She has been involved in OMSD for four years, and choreographed for two of those years.  She plans on joining a Non-Profit advocacy network to fight global poverty


Victoria Burrow 
Victoria is a junior Spanish major from Pascagoula, MS.  She has been dancing since she was four and has been involved in OMSD for three years. After graduation, she plans to move to either Miami or Atlanta and pursue a professional dance career.
